Nurturing children's spiritual development; cultivating communities of worship.

Welcome. My name is Anne Grace Glenn. I'm currently working on my MA in Religious Studies with a focus on children's spirituality at Bryn Athyn College. I have a background in children's ministry and am a certified Godly Play storyteller. I'm interested in how children experience God, how they worship and how church communities include children as full community members in corporate worship and in opportunities to serve as  contributing members of community.

Ritual. Storytelling. Dance. Community. Worship.

I have always been drawn to ritual; to meaning-making; to physical, natural expression of sacred, spiritual realities. This pull has affected my own spiritual/religious/faith path and my academic path. As an undergraduate I studied dance and used my senior project as an opportunity to explore the use of dance as a form of worship. I travelled to numerous churches in multiple traditions, facilitating workshops that explored the use of dance in communal worship settings, as well as encouraging participants to use dance in their private or individual worship.  My current graduate work is focused on children's spirituality. My hope is to pursue a Doctorate of Worship Studies in the coming years.

I offer a variety of workshops, classes and presentations on a range of subjects, including: Godly Play (a children's spiritual development program), dance as a form of worship, and children's spirituality.

…worship stands at the center of the church’s life and mission. It’s the summit toward which the church moves and the source from which all of its ministries flow. It’s the most important action the church is about. Worship informs the church’s teaching, gives shape to its evangelistic mission to the world, and compels the church toward social action. Worship is the context in which the true fellowship of Christ’s body is realized and where those who participate can find real healing. The single most important thing the church can do is worship. A vibrant worship life will glorify God, edify the faithful, and engage the seeker.
